2. Why do I need CaseClipper
for my law study?
Law study
involves lots of writing and lots of reading. You write case
briefs, notes, outlines. You read cases, law reviews articles
and other legal research materials in order to write a paper,
a case note or a law review article. Typically, law students
save their briefs and other stuff in many separate files.
Also, if you are a 2Ler or higher, and are working on a legal
research project, the materials you have (cases, news from
the internet, law review articles, notes jotted down) can
literally be all over the place (in your computer hard drive
as well as on the floor). Right now, there is really no effective
way to easily locate and cross-reference your files.
CaseClipper
manages all your legal materials efficiently and effectively.
You may put everything you've written into the software, therefore
immediately turning the software into a portable library for
you. If you are looking for a case, you can just type in one
or two words that you vaguely remember are associated with
the case, the software can automatically retrieve your document
for you. If you want review at all the cases that discuss
certain key legal concepts, the software can also fish them
out for you. Best of all, if you want to master all the case
laws in your class, either to get an A or to impress (or scare)
your buddy, you can use the software to help you remember
the issues and holdings of the cases.
With
CaseClipper, you will save a lot of time, not just in filing
and handling documents, but also in studying and mastering
cases. You can also use CaseClipper to exchange case briefs,
either with your study group members, or with other people
over the internet. |

5. Do I need to purchase CaseClipper
to write an outline?
Honestly,
no. If you are like a typical law student who knows how to
use Microsoft Word, you already have the right software tool
for outline writing. With Microsoft Word, one can easily generate
structured and layered outlines (for example, by using View->Outline
function). In addition, commercial word processors (Microsoft
Word and Word Perfect) have many useful functions (such as
formatting your paper in a variety of highly flexible ways)
that are more than enough to meet your law school writing
needs. Therefore, if you already have Microsoft Word or Word
Perfect, you don't really need any software for writing your
law class outlines. A software that gives law students a home-made
word processor to place those time-proven word processors
just to write an outline is like reinventing the wheel, because,
as already said, these functions are already easily available
and built-in in every word processor.
CaseClipper
focuses on organizing and managing your briefs and other legal
materials for your class and legal research projects. It can
help you prepare your outlines by enabling you to put your
point cases of interest in any specified places of your Word
outline document. In addition, CaseClipper can output all
your cases of interest (by chapter/topic or in aliphatic order
) into a single document. This has proved to be a very popular
feature not only for final exam prep (as you will be able
to print out all your case briefs in one place for the last
minute case-cramming!) but also for every day class (as you
may walk into classroom well prepared, knowing all the case
you've studies are with you now). |
